Modern Warrior is a portrait of my former student, Travis Letendre, who has returned to our school to be a wonderful role-model for our First Nations students. I wanted to convey his pride in preserving his culture; as well as his fierce determination in helping our students overcome the obstacles they face, to achieve their dreams. This piece was painted with water media, on Aquaboard, a clay board substrate.
