Joanna Balaski

I am a Canadian artist who is beginning to explore various mediums for creating two-dimensional visual art. I primarily paint in acrylics; however, I have worked with watercolours, oils, mixed media, pastel, and collage. I find myself lost in the process of creating and I can never anticipate what I will end up with whether it be pleasing to me or not. When I am inspired, I am not limited to any particular subject. My work includes landscapes, portraiture, animals, figurative and florals and is largely representational. This year, I hope to incorporate some abstract elements into my work. It brings me great joy when a painting that I create resonates with that someone who will find in it, joy, beauty, and meaning.
