Calgary etching artist, Kate Baillies is returning to Ft.St. John to introduce intermediate techniques in safer etching.
Kate's bio:
Kate has formal education in Art and Art Education from CEGEP Dawson College, AOCA, and NSCAD. Over the years she has taught children and adults. She is a founding member of the Alberta Printmakers Society.
Since 2015 Kate has established her own green printmaking practice through residencies at Zea Mays Printmaking. Kate is active with Alberta Printmakers through teaching, committee work, studio projects, and studio rental.
In recent imagery, Kate has been exploring an intuitive and visceral response to the natural world, all while using safer intaglio media. Kate has exhibited in local, national and international exhibitions. Her work can be found in the Canada Council Art Bank, the Alberta Art Foundation, The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, as well as corporate and private collections.
