The morning opening will be followed by an afternoon workshop, Three Perspectives on Colour" delivered by artists Marjorie Henn, Suzanne Sandbow and Patricia Peters.

DIMENSIONS OF REALITY - May 3 - 24, 2014

Peace Gallery North and the North Peace Cultural Centre in Fort St. John are proud to present the 6th juried exhibition of the Peace River Chapter of Federation of Canadian Artists (PRFCA), DIMENSIONS OF REALITY. You are invited to the Gala Opening on Friday, May 3rd from 7 - 9.

Reality can be literal, interpretive, external and internal, imagined or perceived. Therefore, in keeping with the theme, viewers will enjoy works ranging from photographic realism to impressionism, expressionism and abstraction. This themed exhibition will showcase nearly 45 works by approximately 16 artists using a wide diversity of media, including acrylics, oils, encaustics, and a variety of printmaking processes, making this a colorful and exciting viewing opportunity

Members of the PRFCA primarily live in the Peace Region of BC and Alberta. However, memberships are as diversified as the creative processes employed by the group. A few members who have work in this show moved from the area, but maintained their membership in the chapter. Another member resides in Fort St. James.

Many members of the chapter have had their work juried into national shows at the Federation Gallery on Grandville Island in Vancouver, where they have received awards of distinction as well as a first place award. The Peace River Chapter is recognized by this 72 year-old national organization for the diversity of style, range of media and approaches used by its members and the chapter’s commitment to on-going learning and professional development.

We wish to express a special word of gratitude to ENCANA, our official sponsor for two FCA Chapter Shows each year.
