Details for "Printmaking Summer School - Module 1 Only"

The Peace River Chapter of the Federation of Canadian Artists (PRFCA), in collaboration with Flying Colours Artists' Association, is proud to present the first Fort St John Summer School of the Arts.
 
This year's summer school will focus on printmaking with Victoria, BC based artists Alain Costaz and Victoria Edgarr. The program will include 4 two-day modules in August, 2023 and will be held at the North Peace Cultural Center, Fort St John, BC. Registration for individual modules is available however preference will be given to participants wishing to register for the entire program.

Printmaking Summer School program: Module 1 Only

Module 1 - Printmaking the Figure

Date: August 12 & 13, 2023 (Sat & Sun)

Time:  10:00 am - 4:00 pm daily; room will be open at 9:30 each day for set up
 
Registration fee for the Program:  2 Day workshop - $120
Registration for individual modules will open at a later date. 

Instructor:  Alain Costaz

The first day will be working from a live model directly onto a plate.  Day two will be spent mounting prints.

About the Instructor

Alain Costaz Spacer

Alain Costaz has over 30 years of professional art practice and teaching experience and is a graduate of Concordia University (BFA) in Montréal.

Alain was a faculty member of the Victoria College of Art, giving community classes in Victoria and workshops on mainland BC and Alberta. In his Victoria studio Alain holds individual and group classes with an informed, supportive teaching style, sensitive to individual learning.

Alain supports the Victoria arts community as organizer, administrator and board member of Xchanges Artist Run Centre and Ground Zero Printmakers, generating and participating in many local and international exhibitions. 

Alain produces multi media work incorporating drawing printmaking and painting. He is inspired by the human figure expressing the conflicts and challenges of the human condition. 

Alain has been represented by galleries Quebec, Ontario, and BC. Solo exhibitions of his prints, drawings, paintings and assemblages have been held in local public and private galleries.

Cancellation Policy

Registration fees are non-refundable. You may transfer your registration to another person if you are unable to attend, that person will pay the registration fee directly to you. FCA Peace River does not manage the transfer of payment between individuals. It is your responsibility to collect payment from the person you transfer your registration to.

Peace River Chapter of the FCA reserves the right to cancel the workshop in the event that a minimum number of registrations is not met. In the event that the PRFCA needs to cancel, you will receive a full refund. 

Waitlist

If this workshop is sold out, your name will be added to the waitlist. If we have a last minute cancellation, our Workshop Coordinator will contact you. If you still want to attend, you will pay the registration fees directly to the person who is cancelling their registration. FCA Peace River does not refund demonstration or workshop fees, or manage the transfer of payment between individuals.
