Our Autumn/Winter show, “A World of Contrast,” opened with a warm audience at the Centre for Creative Arts in Grande Prairie, Alberta, on Nov. 1st 2019. As artists we had the opportunity to inject beauty, intrigue, moods and messages as a sharp contrast to the concerns of our time, and that we did. Our first place winner was Suzanne Sandboe, second place was Elizabeth Hutchinson and third place was  Tannis Trydal. Honorable mentions were  Caily Oldershaw, Mary Parslow AFCA, Sandy Troudt AFCA. . Our next juried show is in May at the Fort St John Art gallery and is entitled “Fleeting Moments."

We were pleased to host Alberta landscape artist Susan Woolgar who led us in a workshop “Abstracting the Landscape.” A full compliment  of PRFCA members enjoyed the learning experience, the camaraderie, and the beautiful art studio at St Catherine’s school, generously hosted by Elizabeth Hutchinson, a member and a teacher at the school. We were also pleased to host two students from the area who subsequently became active members.

We are planning to have workshops led by Suzanne Sandboe for our May show “ Fleeting Moments," and Susan Woolgar at our summer painting retreat at Charlie Lake.
